About Us

Meet the Story Listener

Satyam Ganji | Founder & CEO

After retiring from a 37-year career in Qatar and returning to Mumbai, I expected peace and rest. Instead, I discovered a deeper silence — one filled with untold stories from people who had no one to talk to. Especially senior citizens.
I realized that I didn’t need to solve their problems. I just needed to listen. And so, TheStoryListener.com was born — a place where anyone can be heard, privately and respectfully.

Priority Access to Listening Sessions

Members enjoy faster booking confirmations and access to exclusive time slots — ensuring you’re heard when you need it most.

Community of Silent Strength

You become part of a growing circle of people who believe in the power of being heard — with occasional member-only events, storytelling circles, and discussion forums (virtual/in-person).

Loneliness Index

A 2017 global survey found that about 75% of Indians felt stressed, with most not discussing it openly. Even if only 10% of urban India seeks emotional connection, that's over 130 million people who could benefit.

Why a Listener

More recent mental health reports indicate that around 150 million Indians (roughly 10% of the population) live with some form of mental health condition—but many more experience loneliness, anxiety, and isolation without being clinically diagnosed.

What the Statistics Say

The 2023 Cigna U.S. Loneliness Index (though U.S.-focused) found 46% of adults sometimes or always feel lonely, and 59% reported negative effects on their mental health due to lack of meaningful connection. Though U.S.-centric, this reflects broader global trends in emotional loneliness.

A 2021 BBC World Service poll spanning 31 countries showed that one-third (about 33%) of adults report they are often or always lonely.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that over 264 million people worldwide live with depression—a condition often closely linked to emotional silence, loneliness, and a need for someone understanding to share their inner feelings.

If roughly 30–50% of adults globally experience significant loneliness or emotional isolation, a major segment of the population likely needs someone they can trust to listen.
That's approximately 2.5 to 4 billion people world‑wide who might benefit from a platform like TheStoryListener.com

Even with conservative estimates (say 30% of the adult global population), there’s a massive audience seeking caring, confidential listening.
